Woah, what happened!

Wow, a lot has happened since I last posted here. In short, I left my full-time job in advertising to pursue my dream of becoming a photographer. Now, I have a website over at I loved this little corner on the connected me with people who have become friends for life and it opened some awesome doors for me but for now, I'll be posting on my new website. I’m still not quite sure what to do with Gloss so I’ll let it tick over while I think on it x

The Neighbourgoods Market in Braams!

Jon and I were in Jozi last weekend which was kind of a big deal seeing as he NEVER does city holidays. My parents had kindly treated us to flights to visit his mama who hasn't been well. We had such a lovely time staying with her, cooking up feasts and listening to old 70s rock! On Saturday, I managed to twist Jon's arm into taking me to Braamfontien which seems to be the most Instagrammed neck of the woods right now! Jon absolutely HATED it. Lols. Crowds + Noise + well...the entire vibe is not his cuppa. I, on the other hand, LOVED IT! It felt very Londonish in that freezing wind, shuffling between colourful buildings, strung up with lights. We noshed a delish waffle and then hot-tailed it outa there in a bid to salvage our relationship! I would love to visit again to check out all the cute shops and coffee spots but next time I'll take a buddy x

Cape Town with Mama Gloss!

Mama Gloss and I are back from Cape Town! It had been seven years since we'd been on a girls holiday and it felt like the right time to go on an adventure again. We'd both been dying to visit Cape Town so off we went for four days of chilling, flat-whiting and shoppin'! Now, I love Durban to bits but man, Cape Town is off the chain. I am always floored by how scenic it is. And everyone was so friendly from the car guards to the er, concierge! My old hairdresser who is now a travel agent scored us an epic hotel deal and I kept saying, "Grief, this is how the Kardashians must live everyday!" I'd never had anyone cart around my suitcase before or bring me up tea at strange hours so it felt like a real treat. Oh ya, can we also talk about the fact that there is a GIANT mountain overlooking this city? Every time I go to Cape Town, all I can say is "the mountain, the mountain, there's a giant mountain here." Cape Townians get the best malls, the swishest beaches and a huge-a$$ mountain! Lucky sods! I tried to convince Tall One to come with me too at one point by luring him with a mountain to climb but the boy just wants his ridiculously tall and freezing Drakensberg peaks. Well, hope ya'll have a happy Thorsday! x
